9:48.

today i signed myself up for a long overdue root canal. that i have known that i have needed one for more than three years is balanced out by the fact that i am not in pain yet, so my upcoming surgery is, for all measures and purposes, preemptive and therefore a sign of my developing practicality and good sense.

straws are grasped.

I have a major paper due, two really, but one is so much more major that it eclipses the other, both are due April 16th. Today being the eighth means that i should already be panicked but i can't muster it and panic rarely helps.

future crisis foreseen.

Judah is coming down the stairs to remind me that he has no intention of letting me be on my own for fifteen minutes together.

Blog is abandoned.

Sometimes I hate being a sensible, responsible adult. But I hate pain even more.

What are your papers about?

the influence of western feminist theology on developing asian feminist theology. sounds good?

Those papers sound like so much fun! I'm jealous. :)

RYC: Sometimes it seems that the more attention you give a child the more they want. I remember hearing at one of our adoption meetings that until the age of 10 or 11 children don't know that the world doesn't revolve around them. That seems true.

e - i'm dying to talk to you about grad school -- the balance -- and such. went to talk to my advisor last night and spent the rest of the night stressing out. better this morning, but still want to talk to someone who's doing it.

Those sound like fascinating subjects.

I'm not just saying that.

What church are you planning to visit?

A 'low key' one or a 'Way Out there' one.

For a Rollicking good time, I suggest A Chicago Area Renowned Mega Institutional Church.....

Faith Baptist Church, Hammond IN

One of the humungouusestest churches in the land. Where Jerry Falwell cut his teeth (and got kicked out of college for having a bootleg refrigerator on the roof), where the Commander-in-Chief of Mine, McMom's, and Seeker's "Fort God" also went to college.

www.fbchammond.com

I have never been there.

OMG CV! I lived in Hammond and that church is INSANE. They have a whole fleet of busses and they go all over NW Indiana picking up kids whose parents don't go to church.

I briefly lived in an apartment complex where tons of young people that went to their "college" lived. I had one lady visit me when I first moved in. She saw my NIV bible sitting on the counter and told me that her pastor told her that the NIV Bible was written by....wait for it...

Two witches and a warlock.

LIZZIE!!! LOL

That does not surprise me in the least.

E, I am 99.9% sure that FBC would qualify as 'A Different Faith' by any definition.

Yeah, they are definitely different faith. :)

Maybe a Buddhist meeting? Now that would be groovy.

Others that would be Different, and I think could be fun.

Scientologists (but only if Tom Cruise were there)
Raelians
The Snake People - but only if I could watch from the snake proof booth!
Nothing says "Excited to go to church" more than the Pentecostals....
Orthodox Jewish
Catholic Mass - - very interesting
Hindu
Russian Orthodox is enjoying a post USSR resurgence.
and of course, Islam......

I'm dyyying to know what you pick!
